Pilgrim Run FAQs

I registered but can’t participate. Can I transfer my registration to next year or give it to a friend?
No. We’re sorry, but there are no refunds and registrations must be used this year by the person who registered.

I have friends who would like to help. How can they volunteer?
That’s great! Ask them to email us at pilgrim@pilgrimcenterinc.org. We'll put them to work!

What charitable organization will my participation benefit?
ALL PROCEEDS (not canned food collected, not a percentage of profits, but ALL PROCEEDS) of the Pilgrim Run 5K benefit the community programs of the Pilgrim Center. Each year the Center presents free programming like the Spring Frolic and Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday and the month-long Hyde Park Film Festival, Fridays in June. This year we pivoted our services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, partnered with the Kansas City Community Gardens, and distributed 1,500+ free food plants to people in our community, including fresh kitchen and medicinal herbs and salad greens. We offered concerts and dance performances at our Pilgrim Labyrinth & Butterfly Garden, and we will continue to tailor our programming to the needs of our community as we enter the uncertainty of 2021.

When is packet pick-up?

Packet pick up is Monday, November 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Notre Dame de Sion Grade School, just behind the Pilgrim Chapel, at 3823 Locust Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64109. Click here for more information about packet pick-up. If you cannot pick up your packet, we can mail it to you for an additional $6.00 fee. Will there be any live activities for the 2020 Virtual Pilgrim Run 5K on Thanksgiving Day?

There will be NO in-person event this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we will live stream on our Facebook page @pilgrimrunkc at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Tune in for a ten-year anniversary celebration featuring our Emcee, Missouri Representative Greg Razer, and a warm up routine by PR Project's Nick Pigg. We'll share your finish photos and the best times submitted so far, and we'll award prizes for some of our favorite submissions. You won't want to miss it!
