Hyde Park's GobbleTrot on Gillham Road is back at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26, 2026!

And this year we are offering an optional finisher medal! If you'd like to have a medal with our full color 2026 design, you can add it to your registration for $5.

This 5K starts and finishes at the Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Missouri, and winds through beautiful, historic Hyde Park.

General Race Information

The race begins at 9:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. The start and finish (both southbound) are just north of the Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Road.

• The course takes runners and walkers along Gillham Road, through the Hyde Park neighborhood, and past Hyde Park the park.

• All in-person 5K participants (runners & walkers) are chip timed.

• The course has been certified by the USATF.

Your T-shirt and custom chipped bib will be available at Packet Pick-up. There are THREE choices this year. Click here for more information.

Age Groups: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-84, 85+.

First, second, and third place are awarded in each division, and Male and Female Masters each are awarded a custom-engraved stainless steel Yeti travel cup.

The Children's Dash for kids 8 & under is held at the conclusion of the 5K run and walk. Divisions are: 4 & Under, 5-6, and 7-8. The younger two divisions run 100 yards and the older division runs 200 yards.

Can I give to the Pilgrim Center for Connection to help support the Hyde Park GobbleTrot?

Yes! Please do. We need your support to offer all of the community programming we do at the Pilgrim Center, including the GobbleTrot. Click here to give now.

I registered before the finisher medals were an option. Can I still get one?

Yes! We have a limited number of medals available as an optional add-on for a fee, and you still add one even if you've already registered. Just fill out this form and we'll have the medal(s) ready for you at Packet Pick Up. Please note: there is a charge of $5 per medal. You will be able to pay via Square, Venmo, or cash (exact change) at Packet Pick Up and on Race Day.

I registered but can’t participate. Can I transfer my Hyde Park GobbleTrot registration to next year or give it to a friend?

No. We’re sorry, registrations must be used this year by the person who registered.

I have friends who would like to help. How can they volunteer?
That’s great! Ask them to sign up using this link. We'll put them to work!

What charitable organization will my participation benefit?
ALL PROCEEDS (not canned food collected, not a percentage of profits, but ALL PROCEEDS) of the Hyde Park GobbleTrot benefit the community programs of the Pilgrim Center for Connection. Each year the Center presents free programming for every season, including the Pilgrim Labyrinth & Butterfly Garden, Sacred Space on Sunday mornings, our annual May Festival, our annual Winter Solstice Concert, and our monthly programs and seasonal programs like Tea & Tarot, our Tea Garden Hour, our monthly Community Potluck, and more!

Is the 2026 Hyde Park GobbleTrot an in-person event?

Yes, this year we are glad to be celebrating together on Thanksgiving! Of course we also are offering a virtual option if that is your preference. Simply select the Virtual 5K when you register online.

Can I bring my dog to the Hyde Park GobbleTrot in-person event on Thanksgiving Day?
Sorry, no. We love our fur babies, too, but dogs can be problematic when lining up for the race.

Can I push my child in a stroller at the in-person Hyde Park GobbleTrot?
Sure! We just ask that you line up near the back of the group, with the walkers.
