This year marks the ten-year anniversary of the Pilgrim Run 5K, and we are so excited to celebrate with you! Sign up for our email list here, or like us on Instagram or Facebook @pilgrimrunkc to stay tuned for more details to come.
Of course it is also an unusual year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for social distancing. We have been continually monitoring the number of cases in the metropolitan Kansas City area and have decided that the 2020 Pilgrim Run 5K will be ALL VIRTUAL this year.
Our engaging virtual event will include contests and competitions beginning October 16, designed to get your family together and outside to find, "More Joy in More Places". We can't get together, but we can help you find more joy right where you are with our fun, active, virtual competitions. Watch for one to be announced each Friday from now until Thanksgiving!
Of course all registrants will receive a customized bib and long-sleeve t-shirt, AND the first 800 registrants will receive our first-ever finisher medal, featuring our beloved turkey and the Pilgrim Chapel, celebrating ten years of the Pilgrim Run. Run, Pilgrim!
Pilgrim Run FAQs
I registered but can’t participate. Can I transfer my registration to next year or give it to a friend?
No. We’re sorry, but there are no refunds and registrations must be used this year by the person who registered.
I have friends who would like to help. How can they volunteer?
That’s great, just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What charitable organization will my participation benefit?
The community programs of the Pilgrim Center. Each year the Center presents free programming like the Spring Frolic and Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday and the month-long Hyde Park Film Festival, Fridays in June.
Can I bring my dog to the Pilgrim Run?
Sorry, but no. Dogs are not allowed at this event.
Can I push my child in a stroller?
Strollers are not allowed in the run, but can be used in the walk.
I would like to support the Pilgrim Run/Walk and the Pilgrim Center. How can I sign on as a sponsor?
Sponsorships are available from the Supporter Level at $100 up to the Title Sponsor Level at $5,000. Please contact our Sponsorship Committee chair, Scott Burnett, at email@example.com to obtain sponsorship information.
Where can I park on Race Day?
Parking is available in the multiple level parking garage located in the 3500 block of Gillham Rd just south of Armour Blvd. Additional parking is available at Notre Dame de Sion Grade School (3823 Locust St.). Access to this parking lot will close at 8:45 a.m. and exit will not be opened until 9:30 a.m. since this lot is within the race course. Please DO NOT park on the streets that are on the race course.
