2020 Pilgrim Run 5K!
This year marks the ten-year anniversary of the Pilgrim Run 5K, and we are so excited to celebrate with you! Sign up for our email list here, or like us on Instagram or Facebook @pilgrimrunkc to stay tuned for more details to come.
We’ll start at 9:00 a.m. just north of the Pilgrim Chapel which is located at 38th and northbound Gillham Road in midtown Kansas City, MO. Participants will start southbound and travel through Hyde Park, Gillham Park, and the historic Hyde Park neighborhood. The run is gradually downhill for the first half mile, gradually uphill for the next mile, and then flat until the downhill finish.
The Pilgrim Run 5K course is certified by the USATF and all runners and walkers will receive a bib with an embedded timing chip in their race packet. Here is a 2019 Pilgrim Run 5K Map.
Coffee, snacks, and water will be available at the finish line for all participants in the Pilgrim 5K Run and Walk and the Cornerstones of Care Children’s Dash.
The Children’s Dash will start just north of the 5K finish line at the conclusion of the 5K run and walk. That will be about 10:15 am.
Registration is available online, by mail, and in person. Click the “Register Now!” button above to register online (coming soon!), download a registration form here and mail it with a check to the address listed, or visit us at Packet Pick-up or on Race Day to register in person. A registration form is also available on the back of the rack card advertising the race.
Packet Pick-up and In-Person Registration are as follows:
Wednesday, November 25, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The day of the race, Thursday, November 26, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., at the Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, Missouri.
In the event of inclement weather, the Race Director reserves the right to cancel the race due to unsafe conditions. However, rain or snow alone is not usually enough to prevent the race. Please monitor our social media and website on race day, as well as your own text messages and emails registered with us for the race, for weather-related announcements.

This year we are sponsoring our third annual “Deodorant Drive” in partnership with Giving the Basics, a local nonprofit organization that collects personal hygiene products and distributes them to 220,000 people monthly. Deodorant is rarely donated but always needed. Don’t forget to bring your donation on race day! Or plan to drop it off ahead at one of our drop off locations (coming soon for 2020!).
